GURU YOGA ~ Authentic yogic techniques designed to first increase general flexibility and teach beginner pranayama practices (breathing). Partner poses are sometimes used to increase flexibility, which is difficult to do on your own. Vinny encourages everyone to give their 100% to the practice and be in the moment! This practice helps create mindfulness in each posture.
KRIPALU W/ CHI RUNNING TECHNIQUES ~ A 90 minute Kripalu practice where Ryan helps students learn the techniques of Chi Running and Chi Walking. Anyone can use this knowledge to help them in whatever sports or activities you participate in.
VINYASA YOGA ~ Wednesdays 6 ~ 7:30 p.m. - Vinyasa is a vigorous form of yoga, which uses the breath to flow from one posture to another creating heat in the body. This Mind, Body, and Soul workout helps to increase strength, flexibility, and endurance while reducing stress. Class time is 90 mins and it includes both standing and seated postures. Time flies in this class, its over before you know it making it perfect for both beginner and advanced yogis. Vinyasa Yoga is geared to those seeking a faster, more physical flow. Beginners always welcome. A great workout!
INTEGRAL YOGA ~ (Traditional Hatha I) Saturday 11 a.m., Monday 7:30 p.m. – Integral is a gentle traditional version of hatha yoga developed in the 1950’s by the enlightened master Sri Swami Satchidananda. The integral practice includes flows, traditional postures, inversions, pranayama, relaxation and meditation. The emphasis is to prepare for meditation. All levels are welcome.
BEGINNER HATHA YOGA ~ Tuesday 6 a.m., Monday 6 p.m., p.m. Hatha is a 5,000-year-old holistic path of health and self-development that begins with the body as a tangible way to affect all aspects of our being. This class is a blended style of practices and techniques taken from several yoga disciplines, and includes asanas (physical postures) guided by proper breathing which will help to align, strengthen, stretch and relax the body as well as calm the mind. Through consistent practice this will begin to purify and balance the endocrine, nervous and circulatory systems. All students (beginner to advanced) are welcome and encouraged to work at their own pace.
POWER YOGA ~ Saturday 9:30 a.m. – Power Yoga is a complete Hatha Yoga practice that includes stretching, flows, strength training, balancing, breathing (Pranayama), relaxation and meditation. Power Yoga places emphasis on the development of more core body strength. Americans and most western people are weak in their core body because they sit in chairs with backs in them most of the day. This causes the core body muscles to weaken and atrophy. The strong core body provides a foundation for intermediate and advanced yoga practice. Power Yoga is also excellent cross training for any other exercise practice. Power Yoga is a more physical practice geared to the intermediate student.
KARMA KIDS YOGA ~Saturdays – 1 p.m. PLEASE CALL AHEAD, $15 or Donation ~ Every BODY benefits from YOGA practice, and children seem to be natural YOGIS! Children gain body strength and focus while working through yoga poses in a fun environment. At the end of class they will learn how to quiet their minds.
